Emperor Jones, The (2006)
Production
This stripped-back production of Eugene O'Neill's classic tragedy "The Emperor Jones" consolidated the cast down to three actors. Staged like a Greek tragedy, the cast spoke O'Neill's stage directions aloud in place of a Greek chorus. At the entrance to the theater, Elytra Studios installed a throne (by Fara'h Salei) and light emitting sculpture (by Mickie D. Spencer).
This production was organized in celebration of Black History Month.
