Target Audience: The Code of the Western rides again (2004)
In this remount following a successful run at La MaMa's Club in 2003, playwright/performer Jim Neu brought the character Dr. Thone to life amid a world of Old Western films. The show was accompanied by video, made up of period stills and film clips, highlighting the genre's major players, both real and imaginary. Neu was occasionally joined by his guitar-playing research assistant, played by Deborah Auer. They performed songs that amplified key scenes of the evening. Bill Rice made a special appearance as the host of the Saddleholster Film Festival.
