An Absolute Mystery is a cross-gendered, cross-specied love tale inspired by Indian myths. The premise is that the Devas have been sent earthward to enlighten the people using a divine parable of a love affair. However, the Devas are mischievous by nature and render it carnival-style with people in love with animals, the King in love with a Siamese twin, a eunuch who transforms into a snake, and the genders switched in all the characters. A theme of acceptance is woven through a series of misapprehensions, killings, reincarnations, and mischief.
