Anggrek, the human life of plants (1988)
Work
Anggrek was originally designed as an environmental piece, performed in May and October, 1988 with a company of 25 dancers at the Winter Garden atrium (at the World Financial Center) and in the sculpture court of the Whitney Museum at Philip Morris. The piece was inspired by Alice Farley's 1987 travels in Kalimantan (Borneo). "Anggrek" is the Indonesian word for orchid.
