Why Hanna's Skirt Won't Stay Down

"Why Hanna's Skirt Won't Stay Down" was originally presented at the La Mama Experimental Theatre Club in New York. The setting is a carnival funhouse and the play presents an off-view of life that is "grotesquely funny, amusingly bizarre, gaudy and eerie".
According to photographer James D. Gossage, Ellen Stewart would refer to the play as "Why Hanna Can't Keep Her Skirt Down" when announcing it to audiences.
