Jarboro Company, Jarboro Troupe
"The Jarboro Troupe, which was first called the La MaMA GPA Nucleus Company, began in October 1970 with "Street Sounds," directed by Hugh Gittens and written by Ed Bullins. The company was named after Katarina Jarboro, an opera star in Harlem, and was directed by Hugh Gittens. The company toured Italy, Holland, and Germany."
