La MaMa Repertory Company
Resident company
The La MaMa Repertory Company (a different entity than the original La MaMa Repertory Troupe) was led by Andrei Serban and toured Europe in 1970 with "Ubu" and "Arden of Faversham."
This company had many of the same members of what became the Great Jones Repertory in 1972. There was some overlap and the La MaMa Repertory Company name was used both for the 1970 and the earliest works of what would become known as the Great Jones Repertory Company. Consequently, shows from these two companies may be linked in the catalog. The Great Jones Repertory Company can be dated from the production of "Medea" in 1972.
