TWITAS Inter-Ethnic Bilingual Childrens Theater Workshop (1976)

This workshop was a single day event held on Sunday, March 28, 1976 as part of the "World Theatre Day Celebration" event hosted throughout that weekend at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. This workshop was held in the Basement Theatre, and presented by the Third World Institute of Theatre Art Studies (TWITAS) in conjunction with US Center of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and Communication Center of the Population Institute. It featured two productions, "Mi Casa" directed by Luisa Reyes, and "The Legend of the Mango Tree" directed by Lily Mendoza.

The workshop featured "creative improvisations demonstrating develop messages (such as human settlements, food production, status of women, family planning, nutrition, literacy and the like) interwomen into folk thatre forms, composed and staged by the participants themselves whose ages range from five to twelve years old.";event flyer/program (OBJ.1976.0472)
