Playwright File: Rochelle Owens (1)

Description: File contains material on Rochelle Owens's Homo, including press clippings, a program, and promotional meteral relating to its production at the Ambiance Lunch-Hour Theatre Club (London, 1968), and programs for a La MaMa presentation of the play at the Assembly Rooms Theatre at Durham University, along with Jean-Claude Van Itallie's War and Lanford Wilson's This Is the Rill Speaking. Additionally, there is an aggressive letter from Owens to Tom O'Horgan threating difficulty and possible legal action over a change of title for the La MaMa production from Homo to Homo Sapiens, forwarded to Ellen Stewart with handwritten notes from O'Horgan, and a conciliatory note from Owens to Stewart evidently following a difficult telephone conversation between the two. Also included is one press clipping related to He Wants Shih! (Gate Theater, 1975).
