Video Work: Documentation of "Blood Wedding" (1973)

Description: This video documents the 1973 production of “Blood Wedding” at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. The production was translated into English by James Graham-Lujan and Richard L. O’Connell from Spanish playwright Federico Garcia Lorca’s 1932 play. Patrick Burke conceived and directed the production, with Richard Jakiel as assistant director and musical direction by Jeffrey Waxman. The program for the production thanks Nelly Vivas “for her help and encouragement.” This video was originally shot using a Portapak camera.
