Video Work: Documentation of "Body Indian" (1972)

Description: This video documents the 1972 production of “Body Indian” at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. The play was written by Hanay Geiogamah, directed by Keith Conway, and performed by the American Indian Theatre Ensemble. Music for the production was written by Ed Wapp, Jr., and performed by the E-Yah-Pah-Hah Chanters. This video was originally shot using a Portapak camera.

Video documentation of a 1973 production of “Body Indian” on tour at Rough Rock Demonstration School in Chinle, Arizona, is contained on Reel C18 in La MaMa’s collection.
