Creation (Briah) (2001)
This American premiere of "Briah" (Creation) by Israeli playwright Yossefa Even-Shoshan dealt with the subject of creation through the life-story of Shlomo lbn-Gabirol, the greatest of the Spanish poets of the Golden Age, who created a woman for himself out of his longing and feverish artistic imagination. Directed as a ritual theater piece by Geula Jeffet Attar, it was performed by Israeli actors Victor Attar and Mira Anwar Awad. Translation is by Avraham Leader. The production rid primarily on movement, drawn from middle-eastern sources, and music, a combination of arabic violin and cello. 

This production was a part of a mini-festival at La MaMa of Israeli performers that took place between December 2001 - February 2002, also featuring Bavel and Inbal Dance Theater.
