Wound, The (2000)
Production
The Wound (2000)
This theatrical event of The Wound is adapted by David Willinger from Paul Willems' book "Blessures"; music is by David Varga, set and costuming by Mary Myers, and lighting by Aaron Meadow. This is the first New York staging of any work by Paul Willems.
[Willinger] has adopted a cinematic structural style, formed by short "blackout" scenes, which enable us to jump freely through time and space. What [they] have attempted to put on stage is a "live movie", which takes us not only all over the Cross, but into the characters' minds at times.
"This production is by agreement with Mme. Elza Willems and Gustav Kipernheuer, Buhnenvertriebs. We thank them heartily for their kind permission to adapt and present this work".
