Festival of Puppet Theater (1998), The Fourth Henson International Festival of Puppet Theater (1998)
The Jim Henson Foundation announces the 1998 "International Festival of Puppet Theater" which will showcase the largest assemblage of puppet troupes to ever be presented in New York -- with over 28 companies performing on 17 stages around New York City for three weeks. The 4th biennial Festival will feature companies from 16 countries, 166 artists, 199 performances, and 498 puppets. Although the focus of the Festival continues to be puppet theater for adult audiences, there are several troupes presenting works for children.
