Solid Peach (1998)
Production
Solid Peach is the second U.S. play and La MaMa debut of Dutch dramatist/film maker Lisette Merenciana. The production employs a miniaturized, realistic sculpture of the restroom, a mirrored floor, and slide projections. The play is written and performed primarily in English, with some Spanish and French used; there is loud noise and bright light. A live soundscore is performed by the Somilev Orchestra.
The play will be performed with no intermission. The taking of photos and video is strictly prohibited.
Merenciana is preparing a film version of Solid Peach scheduled to shoot in October 1998.
