Production
Ellen Stewarts adaptation of Ambrose Bierce's short story, based on a medieval manuscript. The folk opera has a score from Elizabeth Swados and was performed by The Story Tellers with members of the Great Jones Repertory Company. The work was conceived at the Theatre of Nations in Baltimore and developed there and at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida.
