An Absolute Mystery (1999)

Production

An Absolute Mystery is a dance theater work conceived and staged by Richard S. Bach and created in collaboration with Nana Simopoulous & Devra Zabot with music by Simopoulos. Indian styles of movement and music prevail throughout the piece and is deemed a "Raga Opera" by the composer. The performance space is to be incensed and fabricated like the inside of an Indian carnival tent.

For one, or multiple performances, an insert within the program reads: "At today's performance the roles of Godlette and the Princess' lover usually played by Julia Sheridan Langham will be played by Michael Stevens. The company wishes to extend their love and thoughts to Julia and her family."
