An evening from Chen & Dancers including their new piece, "Opening the Gate" and reprising 1992's "Double Happiness, One Hundred Sorrows" a piece about marriage which is set in Shanghai's during the 1940s.
"Opening the Gate," a work in progress, is a piece for eleven dances and was co-commissioned project by La MaMa ETC in partnership with the Miami-Dade Community College, Painted Bride Arts Center and the NPN Creation Fund and was made possible in part with public funds from the NEA Arts Dance Program.
