WOMB/man Wars

Work

"WOMB/man Wars is Judith Alexa Jackson's one-woman comedy inspired by the "high-tech lynching" of Anita Hill by the media, Senate Judiciary Committee, and Judge Thomas & Co. Using masks, dance/mime, video, canned sound, bare-blade satire, and a multitude of characters, Jackson examines the myths of the age-old battle of the genders in this contemporary context.
The play establishes Ms. Anima Animus, a central fictional character, whose insights illuminate not only the "she" and "he" sides of the battle, but the yin and yang of the human spirit ever present, and the left and right hemispheres of our minds. Jackson's performance format infuses the organic art of storytelling from the Dogon, Ife, Benin, and the aboriginal cultures of West Africa and the Americas with present-day electronic media."
