"Redemption (The Living Corpse)" (1996)
Production
The Living Corpse (Redemption)
Jonathan Schilder Brown directed his adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's "Redemption (The Living Corpse)." This version takes the play as an "abstract period piece, or fossil of the old in the new." The visual style is "Russian Constructivism - abstract." Brown's adaptation is fairly faithful to the play line-by-line but renders the plot in reverse chronology by inverting the order of the scenes. In this version, the lead Fedya was played by Paige Snell.
