Akin (1992)
Production
Starring John Kelly, AKIN is conceived by Mr. Kelly, featuring a score by acclaimed composer Richard Peaslee and lyrics by Mark Campbell. Interwoven with dramatic and choreographic elements, AKIN is developed from original medieval music. John Kelly takes on the legacy of the 12th century's traveling troubadours who sang about everything from chivalric love to politics as they circulated from city to city in the Europe of their time. The center of the work chronicles a father-son relationship which redevelops with the passing of time, ending in today's world.
