Interrogations
Work
"''Interrogations'' is part theater, part music, part movement and all religious philosophy. It is based on the questions posed by masters to students in the Rinzai sect of Japanese Zen Buddhism: ''What is the meaning of life?''; ''How does a man who has climbed to the top of a pole go farther?'' Mr. Oida stalks about the space, sometimes posing the questions abstractly, sometimes to members of the audience, and interspersing them with gestures and mime that look like martial arts filtered through at least the visual sensibility of Yukio Mishima."
