When the Bough Breaks (1991)
Production
Not My Child
The eight parents in "When the Bough Breaks," who range in age from 35 to 68, belong to Daytop's 2,000-member Family Association, which offers support groups for parents, children and other relatives of drug abusers. They began meeting with Mr. Sacharow two years ago, telling stories and writing monologues about their own childhoods, their children's upbringing, the sickening realization of their addiction and the nightmarish aftermath.
