The Plagues for our Time (1983)
"'Plagues' is our exploration of the dramatic and theatrical possibilities of a large vocal ensemble. The idea has its roots in the Madrigal Operas of Vecchi and Banchieri, the Ballet DeCour, and the dramatized versions of Handel's oratorios. Long before these examples, however, the chorus of the Greek drama must have been a singing and dancing entity. With this in mind we have brought together this group of singers in the hope of expanding the boundaries of pure choral music."
