Playwright File: Ruth Landshoff Yorck
Document
The file contains several items of correspondence (a telegram, a new years card, handwritten notes); programs and flyers for Yorck's plays and the posthumous Ruth Yorck Golden Series at La MaMa, and for productions that have no explicit link to Yorck at many off-off-Broadway venues, including La MaMa, Caffe Cino, Judson Poets' Theatre, and Playhouse of the Ridiculous. The file also contains printed poems written by Yorck, a review of Lullaby for a Dying Man at La MaMa, clippings of her obituaries in the New York newspapers, and several photographs (see related item: "Photographs of Ruth Yorck and James Waring" [OBJ.1965.0393]).
Among the shows described in the programs contained here are works by Harry Koutoukas, Robert Patrick, Andy Warhol, Charles Ludlam, the Playhouse of the Ridiculous, and others.
