Promotional Flyer: "The Maids" (1965)

A flyer announcing a production of "The Maids" on hot-pink paper. The flyer features time, date, and location info, a reminder to "please present this invitation at the door," and a notice that the venue will be "air-conditioned." Reproduces Genet's famous quote about casting for the play ("If I were to have a play put on, in which women had roles, I would demand that these roles be performed by adolescent boys...") Along the left side is a collage of help-wanted ads ("select domestic help for your individual requirements"; "Taylor Maid Service") and drawings of women in classic maid outfits.
